We are Igisubizo Health Initiative

Derived from the Kinyarwanda word for "Solution," our name is our operational promise. IHI does not merely identify problems it deploys evidence-based, sustainable interventions that move communities from acute need to lasting excellence.

Our Mission

As a non-profit NGO operating under international humanitarian standards, IHI's mission is to accelerate the attainment of SDGs 2, 3, and 6 through integrated community health programs in Rwanda.

Our Core Values

⚖️
Accountability
We maintain the highest standards of professional and fiscal responsibility , accountable first to the communities we serve.
🤝
Equity & Inclusion
Our solutions are designed to reach the marginalized, regardless of gender, status, or geography.
🌱
Sustainability
Every IHI intervention must be community-led to ensure it continues long after the initial project phase.
🔍
Integrity
We operate with radical transparency. Our actions are guided by ethical humanitarian practices and verified data.
🌐
Partnership
Following SDG 17, we actively seek strategic collaborations to maximize our reach and collective impact.

Our Four Health Pillars

No project is approved in isolation. Every IHI intervention must demonstrate a Nexus Link connecting at least three pillars for holistic community impact.

❤️
SRHR
Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights & Gender-based Violence (GBV)

Evidence-based adolescent health mentorship, family planning access, and reproductive rights education targeting SDG 3.7 and prevention of gender-based violence (GBV).

🧠
Mental Health
MHPSS

Peer-led psychosocial support, stigma reduction, and community resilience building aligned with SDG 3.4.

💧
WASH
Water, Sanitation & Hygiene and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs)

Safe drinking water access, handwashing infrastructure, and bio-safety interventions aligned with SDG 6.1, aiming NTDs-free future.

🍅
Nutrition
Nutrition & Food Security

Addressing stunting and wasting in children under 5 through nutritional literacy and agricultural partnerships per SDG 2.2.

Policy: The No-Isolation Mandate
How the Nexus Works
SRHR + Nutrition
Every adolescent health program includes nutritional literacy. Reproductive outcomes improve when the body is properly nourished.
WASH + Nutrition
Every food security project is paired with a WASH intervention. Clean water prevents waterborne illness that blocks nutrient absorption.
MHPSS + All Pillars
Mental health is the psychosocial anchor. Community members must be resilient to adopt new WASH behaviors and agricultural techniques.

Measuring Real Impact

IHI measures success not by activities completed, but by lives sustainably transformed. Every project carries a dedicated MEL Framework , if an impact cannot be measured, the solution cannot be validated.

Baseline Survey
Raw community need captured before any physical intervention , The Red Zone.
Mid-Term Review
Rapid assessment ensuring the Strategic Nexus is operating without departmental silos.
Endline Evaluation
Scientific proof of the community's full transition to Excellence , The Green Zone.
